News Producer: WFLD'S News Department is seeking an experienced individual for an immediate opportunity in its newsroom as a Producer. The Producer will generate fresh and engaging content to newscasts and digital. He/she is accountable for gathering, writing, editing and producing content along with supporting anchors and reporters. The Producer will edit VOs, SOTs, teases and the occasional PKG for newscasts; mine and facilitate content to news and digital teams; download video and create placeholders within rundown. This person will serve as a “go-to” person for EPs, assignment editors, reporters, photographers and editors regarding editing and video requests. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, or broadcast preferred. Minimum of five years’ experience in a medium to large television market preferred. Ability to mine content from all sources and possess the technological expertise to write, edit, produce and distribute content to all platforms is required. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding the latest ways to utilize social media, both as a news gathering tool and to communicate with our audience. Executive Producer: WFLD is seeking an experienced morning Executive Producer. We are looking for an individual who will help break the mold of morning television via enterprise segment creation, colorful/diverse contributor and guest development to become part of a smart, savvy morning news team. The AM EP will be responsible for direct planning, content selection, content development, formatting and overall editorial direction for a six hour morning news block. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing newscasts producers, morning news crews, production staff, as well as, approving scripts, and edit copy. Story and future planning, social media campaigns, critiquing programs and evaluating staff are essential components of the position. Approve and regulate expenses and the ability to perform all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Top candidates must have 5 or more year's television newscast producing/writing experience. Superior creativity and organizational skills are essential. Must be resourceful, cost efficient, have strong production and technical knowledge, be able to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure. Good interpersonal skills and an understanding of budgetary issues necessary. Moderate stair climbing, standing, sitting at workstation, and bending. Investigative Producer: WFLD is seeking an experienced candidate to join the newsroom team as an Investigative Producer. The Investigative Producer will produce compelling investigative segments for newscasts, set up interviews, book guests for shows, survey locations, structure segments and cultivate sources. He/she will support an elite unit which has distinguished itself in the market for uncovering government waste and political corruption. Position requires individual to make many phone calls, follow-up, and supervise all logistics. REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate must have 2-3 years television news experience, which includes experience with on-line research and investigative issues. Must have track record of taking complicated subjects and adapting them to television with creative and innovative techniques. Required to have extensive knowledge of the law governing undercover work, libel and privacy. Must have college degree in Journalism or related field. Knowledge of AVID and INews desirable. Individual must be detail-oriented, dependable, and familiar with technical aspects of production. Since this is an open newsroom, the successful candidate must have a professional demeanor, an amicable disposition, and able to maintain a good relationship with staff and upper management. Assignment Desk Editor: WFLD seeks energetic individual to gather and set-up stories for daily shows. The candidate will be responsible for shuffling news crews and reporters on a daily basis. Responsibilities include setting up stories, following up on stories, working as the transition assignment editor during editorial meetings, occasional field producing, handling paperwork, and answering phones. All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate will have 2-3 years newsroom experience. Background should include broadcast news experience on an assignment desk. News Anchor/Reporter: WFLD Chicago Fox 32 has an immediate full-time job opening for a main anchor on our news broadcast(s). The ideal candidate will display professionalism and personality, both on and off the air. Candidates must also possess strong presentation skills, strong work ethic, broad knowledge of current affairs, the ability to work effectively with a team of professionals, have an aptitude for social media, and passion for innovation. You will be expected to contribute content as an Anchor/Reporter on-air, and to other platforms including our website and social media.
